Sideshow Gelato is an inclusive space where we embrace our uniqueness and celebrate being different.
All of the people we honor are actual side show performers, both current and of the past, as well as what are known as “working acts.” (Jugglers, magicians, acrobats etc.)
Many of the greatest performers were "Anatomical Wonders" and very special people who entered into “showbiz” due to their options, in their time, being few or even dire. However, in the sideshow they found family, love, and community. In our museum and shop you will hear their stories along with those of the famous working acts, and impresarios.
Though, like any industry, there was undoubtably dark and shameful situations, we wish to honor those who shared their gifts with the world by choice.
We wish to keep alive and relevant the most amazing individuals who became the greatest sideshow performers and tell their stories of incredible tenacity, stunning success, courage, generosity of spirit, and extraordinary altruism.
Hopefully, they will inspire you as they have inspired us, and promote the idea that we are all unique, we all have special talents and being different is cool.
